Emails sent anonymously to Dexerto show that former Los Angeles Lakers actor and actor Rick Fox has said he will sever ties with the Echo Fox organization.
This decision comes as part of an exchange of a partner within Vision Esports, the investment group that has invested money in Echo Fox, apparently using racist language towards a high-level representative of their business interests.
In an e-mail sent on April 19, Rick Fox addressed all key stakeholders and informed them of his intention to leave in these terms:
"All,
This is an official notification of my intention to leave the organization Echo Fox as a shareholder and participant as soon as I will be able to facilitate a transaction for this purpose. The recent outrageous and outrageous demonstration of pure racism by a major shareholder in Echo Fox, as well as threats to my family, have prevented me from remaining associated with the company.
I will not support or be associated with such behaviors and attitudes displayed at the shareholder level. Racism is anathema to the goals of my personal brand and it is unacceptable to tolerate any form of discrimination of this kind.
This notification serves as a departure process for leaving the company. I will contact all relevant and interested persons. My position in the general partner and the entity holding my shares are available. According to the proposal, there are different ways to structure a transaction, acquire my entity, exchange positions, and so on. Interested parties can contact me. I move on the first chord that is fine. "

Fox has been at the forefront of the organization since its purchase and transformation into Echo Fox in 2015.
The incident that seems to have triggered Rick Fox's decisive response is the use of a racial epithet intended for Jace Hall, former CEO of Echo Fox and Chief Guardian of Twin Galaxies, in a passionate email exchange.
In an internal dispute between Jace Hall and a member of Vision Venture Partners, whose esports division invested in the Echo Fox brand, the shareholder used the keyword to describe Hall of African-American descent. We are currently retaining the name of the shareholder pending a response to the comment.
Sources close to the situation told Dexerto that it was not the only time such language was used about Jace Hall and Rick Fox of the shareholder in question. An added source:
"Most of the shareholders tried to ignore him in the hope of leaving, which forced Rick's hand to leave. Clearly, he is not going to take advantage of this and hoped that the issue would be dealt with at the shareholder level rather than simply swept under the carpet. "

Rick Fox first entered the space esports in December 2015 when he bought the Gravity Gaming LCS Slot for League of Legends and renamed them under the name of Echo Fox. Since then, the organization has expanded to multiple titles, including various combat game titles.
Although their expansion has brought them diverse fortunes, it would be incredibly difficult to imagine a future without the involvement of the leading personality and the public ambassador who gave his name to the brand.
