Ring

On January 27, Ring launched the new $ 60 wired video doorbell – the smallest and most affordable doorbell the company has ever released. The doorbell is available now for pre-order and will ship by February 24.

The wired video doorbell includes many features that have now become standard for similar devices: two-way audio, live streaming, advanced motion detection, motion and privacy zones, night vision and more. Additionally, customers can also opt for a subscription service, which starts at $ 3 per month and includes a more robust notification system and varying levels of video storage.

As with all Ring products, the wired video doorbell will also work with other smart home devices, such as Alexa-driven Echo speakers and displays, lights and alarms.

Ring’s latest device stands out primarily for its size and price: so far, although Ring has tracked the price of standard security cameras video down, highest quality doorbells, such as Arlo’s excellent device at $ 150 and Ring’s low cost video doorbell, have not crossed the $ 100 mark. A more affordable alternative, the Wyze video doorbell at $ 30, launched last month, but failed when we tested it. If the Ring Video Doorbell Wired performs well, it could represent a significant addition to the market – a great option for customers on a budget or just looking to try out a video doorbell for the first time.

The Ring Video Doorbell Wired is available for pre-order from the Ring and parent company Amazon websites, and will be available for $ 60 online and at Home Depot stores starting February 24. It will arrive at other retailers from March 26.
