Ring targets Wyze with $ 60 wired video doorbell

[ad_1]

Low-budget smart home maker Ring hasn’t been feeling that budget lately, with Wyze launching one super cheap (and still impressive) smart gadget after another. But with its latest video doorbell, Amazon-owned Ring could attract some smart home buyers looking for deals who would otherwise have gone the Wyze route.

The new Video Doorbell Wired marks Ring’s smallest doorbell yet, and at $ 60 it’s also the cheapest – not as cheap as the $ 30 Wyze Video Doorbell, mind you, but it’s a start. . (Our review of the Wyze product is ongoing.)

The Ring Video Doorbell Wired Doorbell is slated for release Feb. 24 and costs $ 40 less than Ring’s cheapest doorbell, the $ 100 battery-powered Ring Video Doorbell. It’s also significantly cheaper than Ring’s two existing wired doorbells, the $ 250 Video Doorbell Pro and the $ 350 Video Doorbell Elite..

Designed for use with existing low-voltage doorbell wiring, the lightweight wired video doorbell offers 1080p video resolution, night vision, and two-way sound with noise cancellation. The doorbell is IP65 certified for its resistance to dust ingress and water jets sprayed from all angles. (You can read more about IP codes in this story.)
