Riqui Puig was a happy man after playing all 90 minutes for Barcelona in Saturday’s La Liga 5-1 win over Alaves at Camp Nou.
The 21-year-old was named in a young starting lineup, which also included Ilaix Moriba, Francisco Trincao and Oscar Mingueza, and has played the entire game for the first time this season.
Puig spoke to reporters after the game and thanked Koeman for giving him another chance and also offered his support to Ilaix after a serious mistake led to a goal in the second half.
“We have a very good race, seven league wins says how we’re doing. I felt very comfortable. Busi helped Ilaix and me. Once we scored the first goal they opened more, there were more spaces.
“Playing 90 minutes gives you a lot of morale, I’m very happy and I thank Koeman for those minutes. Ilaix’s mistake … you learn from mistakes. We can now think of PSG, we can not wait to be there and I think we will be up to it.

The midfielder is starting to enjoy more playing time at Barca after a difficult start to the season. He has now started Barca’s last two La Liga games but is likely to fall back on the bench for the visit of PSG.
