Riverdale is a brand new show after a 7-year time jump

From tonight, Riverdalehas a whole new vibe.

It’s seven years after high school and seven years since Archie (KJ Apa), Betty (Lili reinhart), Veronica (Camila Mendes) and Jughead (Cole sprouse) have seen each other and a lot has changed.

Archie went to war, Betty joined the FBI, Veronica got married, and Jughead is … still a tortured writer, because no all changed.

It’s a brand new Riverdale, in more than one way. Gone are the senseless high school murder plots that are peppered with SATs and promises, replaced with adult murder plots peppered with money issues and the ability to drink legally. Finally, stars are now acting their age, and their character’s actions suddenly take on a lot more meaning.

Critics have only seen one episode of post-temporal leap so far, so we can’t really talk about what’s to come, but there is tremendous potential for a really good new start. If you’ve fallen off the show (or never have) and are curious, this would be a great time to come back.
