Riverdale season 6 welcomes Kiernan Shipka’s Sabrina Spellman

Kiernan Shipka will officially debut in Season 6 of Riverdale as Sabrina Spellman, giving fans the cross between the ongoing CW series and Netflix’s now-ended series The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina they always wanted. RiverdaleThe Season 5 finale of, which culminated with the departure of one of town’s most prominent members, also hinted at the possibility of Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) to play its magic.

“We’ve been talking about Sabrina’s visit to Riverdale since season one, so it’s exciting that this is finally happening, as part of our special ‘Riverdale’ event,” the showrunner said. Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa in a statement provided. “It’s also perfect that she’s showing up to help Cheryl Blossom during her most needed hour. Everyone on set has lost their minds, I think the fans are too. It’s really fun and special.”

Shipka also acknowledged the news by sharing a photo from the set of the CW show via her Instagram account. “From Greendale to Riverdale. See you in season 6,” she wrote, referring to the town where The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina takes place.

According to a synopsis provided by Warner Bros., Shipka’s Sabrina Spellman will do it Riverdale debut in the fourth episode of season 6, titled “The Witching Hour (s)”:

Cheryl performs a dangerous spell, which can mean the difference between life and death for a beloved member of the Blossom family. Luckily, she gets the much-needed help from everyone’s favorite witch in her twenties, the iconic Sabrina Spellman (played by Kiernan Shipka), visiting Greendale in this upcoming crossover.

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina ended on Netflix on December 31, 2020 after four seasons, which resulted in a rather surprising and somewhat disappointing ending given that the series was unexpectedly canceled in May of the same year. But the fans are clamoring for a Sabrina–Riverdale crossing for a while now, and it seems that Aguirre-Sacasa and the other members of the Riverdale The Writers’ Room has found a fun way to continue Sabrina’s journey – though the how is still a mystery given the character’s fate at the end of her own series. During this time, Riverdale isn’t the only scary series Shipka will appear on; she will also be featured on the Halloween podcast To treat, making its worldwide debut on October 25 from C13Features.
