Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski competed in a special Sunday edition of The Late Late Show with James Corden where he opened up about his subdued celebration after beating the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship game earlier today, earning a trip to the Super Bowl. There’s a video of Gronkowski dancing in the locker room after the game, but it’s about as crazy as him.
“So we already celebrated in the locker room, and now I just ate my burrito,” Gronkowski said. “Let me tell you, this was my super celebration. I had a burrito and had it with all the queso I could possibly have.
Gronkowski made his first of five Super Bowl trips with the New England Patriots, winning three of them, in 2012. He admitted he was a lot more festive then than he is now.
“The first Super Bowl I went to, I kind of celebrated really loud after the AFC Championship game when I still had one game left, you know, practice and everything,” Gronkowski said. . “I’m a little bit, I’ve been there and I’ve done this now, so I’m going to save it for after the game. I hope this goes in our direction.
Gronkowski said the celebratory burrito will do the trick for now, and the real celebration will come if the Buccaneers beat the Kansas City Chiefs at the Super Bowl on February 7 in Tampa. This will be the first time in NFL history that a team has participated in a Super Bowl at their stadium.
“I told you, I just had a burrito with queso and sour cream, it was my celebration because I still had work to do. We still have work to do, ”said Gronkowski. “And then that’s when the big party will take place in two more weeks.”
The Late Late Show with James Corden is broadcast weekdays at 00:35 on CBS.
