According to Andy Martino of SNY, Food relief Robert Gsellman was diagnosed with a partial tear lat.
Gsellman is listed on the wounded list on August 17, the triceps tightened. That turned out worse than just a backlash, because Gsellman has a partial tear and will have to miss a significant amount of time. A schedule has not been announced yet, but given the timing and severity of the injury, it is unlikely that Gsellman is starting again this season.
Gsellman has been in good health all year up to this point. He appeared in 52 games, contributing with results from top to bottom. He had improved his thrower lately, with a silver medal of 3.57 in 13 games since the break of the all-star game. Overall, he launched an ERA of 4.66.
The Mets are now at rest without Gsellman, which is detrimental to the already very low depth of their paddock. They will probably have to manage without him for the rest of the season.
