Twilight star Robert Pattinson will star in The Batman, Matt Reeves' upcoming DC Comics film.
Variety reports that pre-production starts this summer. Matt Reeves is still tweaking the script.
"No official start date has been set for The Batman, insiders say that the filming of Variety could begin in late 2019 or early 2020," according to the distributor.
Pattinson will be the sixth actor to play the modern incarnation of the Dark Knight on the big screen since Michael Keaton played in Batman in 1989.
The next Pattinson film will be Christopher Nolan's upcoming film, which will also feature John David Washington.
He not only played in the vampire movie Edward Cullen in the Twilight franchise, but more recently he has starred in such independent films as The Lost City of Z, High Life, Maps to the Stars and Queen of the Desert.
The Batman enters the scene on June 25, 2021.
