Robert Pattinson is your new Batman

This is official, Robert Pattinson will play Batman.

Warner Bros. and actor Twilight have signed a contract to allow him to play the Caped Crusader in the upcoming movie The Batman, according to Variety. The studio, however, told CNET that they were currently in negotiations with Pattinson.

The new film based on the character of DC will be directed by Matt Reeves (Cloverfield, War of the Planet of the Apes) and its release is scheduled for June 25, 2021. Pre-production should begin this summer.

Unofficial news from the British actor wearing the cape and hood arrived earlier in May. Pattinson succeeds Ben Affleck, who played the role of Dark Knight in Batman v Superman: The Dawn of Justice and Justice, but steered himself away from future films of the DC Universe.

The Pattinson publicist responded immediately to requests for comment.
