Jets rookie quarterback Zach Wilson hasn’t been good this season. Coach Robert Saleh says three games is far too little to judge him.
Saleh admitted today that Wilson is going through a rough start to his NFL career, but Saleh said Wilson will fare better.
“He’s got all the scars you can imagine, but that’s a good thing,” Saleh said. “It really is. Because he’s one of those guys that goes to the movie theater, he goes to the boardroom, he asks the right questions, he has a great process. When it clicks, everyone will see why it was the second overall pick. And it’s just a matter of clicking.
Saleh said the Jets locker room remains confident in Wilson.
“The confidence of his teammates in him has not weakened. Everyone understands. Everyone’s been a rookie before, ”Saleh said.
Saleh is right that it is far too early to judge Wilson. But if he continues to play well, it will be difficult for Jets fans – and perhaps some teammates – to continue to be patient.
