Roberto Firmino has given Liverpool a fitness scare on the eve of the last 16 Champions League clashes with Bayern Munich at Anfield.
The Brazilian striker missed training at Melwood on Monday after being sidelined by a virus.
Liverpool is hopeful he will recover in time to take the lead in Tuesday's first leg.
However, Daniel Sturridge is ready to start if Firmino is not deemed available for selection once he has been assessed by the club's medical staff on Tuesday morning.
Dejan Lovren also missed training, which prevents him from participating in Bayern's visit.
The Croatian center-back has not played since Jan. 7 due to a thigh injury and lost his fight to be fit for the Bundesliga champions.

As a result, Fabinho should be in the center, alongside Joel Matip, while Virgil van Dijk is serving a ban on a match.
Young Corey Whelan and Ki-Jana Hoever also took part in Monday's session.
