Rockets optimistic about Harden's vision

The Houston Rockets are optimistic that star goalie James Harden will no longer have vision problems in the Western Conference semi-finals, sources told ESPN on Wednesday.

After the Rockets flight landed in Houston on Wednesday afternoon, Harden went straight to an ophthalmologist. The tests revealed no damage to Harden's corneas, said a source, and the Rockets expect his vision to be fully cleared before Saturday's third game.

Harden had bruises to both eyes and a tear inside the left eyelid when he was inadvertently struck by Draymond Green's Golden State face just over five minutes after Tuesday's loss of second game of the Rockets.

Harden said he could "barely see" after returning to play in the second quarter. He frequently narrowed his eyes and shielded his eyes from the light during the rest of the match and his post-game press conference. Harden's vision in his left eye was particularly blurred.

Harden's vision problems were not evident in his performance. He finished with 29 points and got his highest percentage of goals in the playoffs (9 out of 19, 47.4%) despite the fact that he missed his first three shots before getting hurt.
