As in Old West, the outlaws after a robbery, evidence of the most recent mastery of the world opened by Rockstar accumulates. First a Rockstar developer Leeds listed Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC on his LinkedIn pageand now a former physics designer from Rockstar Toronto did the same. We will not disclose their names directly, but the summary indicates that the PC version of the prequel suite is in preparation since 2016. The Toronto programmer left in 2016 and listed RDR2 as a game he worked on, while that of Leeds left in 2017. and listed the same. Both developers left Rockstar before the Red Dead Redemption 2 expedition in October 2018.

Although Red Dead Redemption 2 was built from the base for the current generation of consoles, the game will likely come on PC to ensure maximum live exposure, sales and service revenue from Red Dead Online.

Rockstar has a penchant for launching its biggest PC games, year after console, and Take-Two Interactive loves to capitalize on a reissue (GTA V has bridged two consoles and a PC).

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a monumental blockbuster that has amassed a fortune selling and monetizing games via its online mode. The game makes $ 725 million in just three days of sales and was the biggest entertainment launch of 2018 despite the release in the 4th quarter.

A PC version would further increase these gains, as desktop enthusiasts seek to push the game to the limit of its capabilities using today's cutting-edge graphics technology.

In addition, there is the small advantage of monetizing the engagement from the long queues of Red Dead Online. Take-Two likes microtransactions and live services and regularly generates hundreds of millions of dollars every quarter thanks to the recurring consumer spending of its biggest games.

Also expect that RDR2 is exclusive to the Epic Games store when it is released on PC. A version of Epic Store would generate more revenue for the publisher in the long run. Take-Two could trade the huge $ 90 million Steam reach against 88% of all revenue generated by RDR2 sales on Epic Store. The company has already has signed exclusive contracts with Epic over Borderlands 3 and The outer worldsRed Dead Redemption 2 should not be otherwise.

Take-Two Interactive needs to confirm the existence of a PC port and will probably not do it until Rockstar is ready to announce something. Besides the 2K NBA, the Rockstar games are the huge cash crops of Take-Two, so there's a distinct level of respect between the multi-billion dollar parent and the kid who produces the GTA .

It is possible that we may hear something when calling the forthcoming 2017 fiscal year results for Take-Two on Monday, but the company's timeline is already jam-packed. Take-Two plans to export Borderlands 3, a new big NBA 2K game, and Obsidian's new RPG, The Outer Worlds, in the same quarter. Running Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC during the holiday season 2019 would usurp Borderlands 3, a game in development for quite some time already.

If the RDR2 PC port is near, it will probably come out in 2020 at the earliest.
