Roderick Strong has been a staple of WWE NXT for years at this point. Even outside of WWE, he gained a lot of popularity and success. Strong’s wrestling career spans over two decades now. He has competed all over the world, learning from some of the best wrestlers in the world.
In a recent interview with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, Strong credited WWE Hall of Fame member Molly Holly with helping him a lot during his early years as a wrestler. The former North American NXT Champion said the following:
“She was the best. After I moved she was in WCW and didn’t train with us, she always said ‘send me tapes because I’m around the best wrestlers in the world doing this and I can tell you. help as much as I can. ‘ That’s what she did. ” Strong added, “Every tape I sent her she responded with footwork, focusing only on my footwork. Every day was my goal. She helped me become a lot. what I have in this business, just with her kindness. She’s like the nicest person in the world, so I wouldn’t expect anything less. ” [h/t Fightful]

Roderick Strong currently runs the Diamond Mine in WWE NXT
On the June 22 episode of NXT, Kushida faced off against Kyle O’Reilly in a grueling match at the main event of the series. After the match, Cole came out and ambushed O’Reilly, continuing their rivalry while Kushida was left alone in the ring. Soon after, a hooded figure accompanied by Tyler Rust and Hideki Suzuki attacked the cruiserweight champion.
The hooded character was later revealed to be Roderick Strong, who was making his first appearance following his resignation from WWE NXT in February.
Strong won a few victories following the emergence of this new dominant faction. He even beat his former ERA Undisputed partner Bobby Fish on the July 21 episode of WWE NXT. Under Malcolm Bivens, The Diamond Mine has put the entire WWE NXT roster on high alert, especially Kushida, as Strong is now considering the WWE Cruiserweight Championship.
However, The Diamond Mine lost a limb as Tyler Rust was part of the last batch of WWE releases.
