Row member of the House Administration Committee Rodney Davis, R-Ill., On Sunday criticized Democrats for their decision to build a plexiglass structure in the chamber to allow members exposed to COVID-19 to vote for the Speaker of the House.
Davis argued that the “lack of communication with the minority” makes the movement “100% political”.
“This is totally contrary to everything we are being told throughout this pandemic for home operations,” Davis told reporters on Sunday. “To build a structure like this in the dark of night, to protect only the votes that President Pelosi needs to be elected president, is shameful.”

On Sunday evening, Representative Nancy Pelosi garnered enough votes to secure her fourth term as Speaker of the House, winning 216 votes out of 427 votes cast.
The California Democrat, who has led her party in the House since 2003 and is the only female spokesperson, was expected to retain her post. Pelosi received 216 votes to 209 for Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., Who will again be the House Minority Leader.
Pelosi has faced five defections from his own party, with Rep. Jared Golden, D-Maine, voting for Democratic Illinois Senator Tammy Duckworth, and Rep. Conor Lamb, D-Pa., Voting for chairman of the Democratic House Caucus Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, DN .Y.
In addition, Democratic Representatives Mikie Sherrill of New Jersey, Abigail Spanberger of Virginia, and Elissa of Michigan each voted “present.”

This will likely be Pelosi’s last term as Speaker of the House based on her caucus pledge.
According to Fox News’ Chad Pergram, Republicans will use Pelosi’s chairmanship as a wedge issue in the mid-term of 2022 and will arm votes under his leadership against vulnerable Democrats.
