Special counsel attorneys, Robert Mueller, said Friday in court that Trump's former advisor, Roger Stone, had communicated directly with WikiLeaks and Russian hackers who had stolen thousands of emails from Democrats.
This filing is the first time prosecutors have claimed direct contact between Stone, WikiLeaks and Russian agents who leaked the stolen emails on the website.
In their investigation of e-mail hacking by Democratic National Committee servers just months before the November 2016 presidential election, investigators said they obtained search warrants to investigate the online accounts used to broadcast and coordinate the publication of documents.
"Several of these search warrants were executed on accounts containing Stone's communications with Guccifer 2.0 and with the organization 1", namely WikiLeaks, prosecutors said.
Last year, the Mueller probe accused 11 BIGs of working for the military intelligence agency GRU of hacking emails. The Russians had posed behind the online character Guccifer 2.0.
In an email to Reuters on Friday, Stone said the information cited by the investigators was "trivial direct messages on Twitter" that have already been leaked to the House's Intelligence Committee and which, he said, prove nothing. .
Also Friday, a judge imposed on Stone and Mueller's team a partial gag order to preserve the integrity of the trial, following his arrest last month, accused of lying in front of Congress, obstruction and falsification of witnesses.
He denies the charges.

Mueller's probe stated in earlier documents that Stone had had contact with two middlemen with WikiLeaks in text messages, but had never previously alleged direct contact between Stone and the organization.
Stone said that he had no prior knowledge of stolen emails.
The Mueller probe has previously claimed that Russian agents had published stolen emails via its own online accounts and also sent them to WikiLeaks with the aim of undermining the credibility of Hillary Clinton, President Trump's rival for the White House.
WikiLeaks has denied being an agent of the Russian state.
