In addition to a minor refresh of the Roku Express and Roku Ultra systems this week, the streaming facility also unveiled a new customizable remote control. Although this does not remove the "spam buttonsSince Roku is primarily an ad serving company (and Netflix requires it), the enhanced remote adds two new numbered custom shortcut buttons that can be programmed to launch the applications of your choice. At least initially, it is an exclusive Roku Ultra. But I suspect it will be available as an accessory for other models. Again, with the control of Roku's expanding voice, we may not even need that.
