Mick Brigden, a music tour director who has traveled the world with legendary artists such as the Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan, has died aged 73.

The UK native injured himself while digging a grave for his pet dog on the property of his Santa Clara, northern California home last week.

He was taken to a local hospital and eventually succumbed to his injuries and died on September 5, according to The democratic press.

Brigden was born and raised in Southend-On-Sea, England, a seaside resort on the Thames Estuary in Essex, in the south-east of England. He finally left for Canada in 1966, when he was 19, settled in Toronto and worked as a graphic designer.

After meeting Mountain bassist and singer Felix Pappalardi in the late 1960s, he moved to New York City to work as a hard rocker tour manager.

Brigden met his wife and famous rock concert promoter Bill Graham at a concert at the Fillmore West in San Francisco in 1969, which led him to work with Graham throughout the years until his death in 1991.

Satriani’s working relationship with Brigden began in 1988, when the guitarist was hired to perform on Mick Jagger’s two solo tours that year. They would end up on the road working together for over three decades.
