One of Romania's most important jazz festivals took place this weekend in a small village in the Semenic Mountains. The Gărâna jazz festival has arrived at the 22nd edition and has brought big names to the public of the world music industry. The 2018 edition of the Jagazza Jazz Festival began Thursday with concerts held on the three stages of the Lupu Valley, the Catholic Church of Văliug and Inn At Crossroads. A total of 25 performances performed by artists from the United States, Cuba, Jamaica or Romania.

The Gârna Jazz Festival started 22 years ago in the courtyard of a Brebu Nou hostel. Several musicians from Timisoara then came together for a jam session which, over time, became the most important outdoor jazz event in Romania.
