Gold for Romania at the International Mathematical Olympiad

Romania won a gold medal, a silver medal and two bronze medals at the International Mathematical Olympiad organized in Cluj.

The Romanian student Ioan-Andrei Nicolae is the winner of the gold medal for Romania. He scored 94.44% after the six tests that he was successful.

The silver medal was won by Ciprian-Mircea Bonciocat with a share of 91.91%, while Edis Memis won the bronze with a percentage of 70.83%. In addition, Mihnea-Gabriel Doica won a bronze medal of 67.62%.

Following the results obtained, Romania ranked 33rd at the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) 2018.

1st place was occupied by the United States. Second place is Russia and third place in China
