Over the period January-May 2018 compared to the same period of 2017, industrial production increased by 4% in gross series and by 5.7% in seasonally adjusted series, according to data published Thursday by National Institute of Statistics – INS
"Over the period January-May 2018, compared with the same period of 2017, industrial production – gross series – increased by 4%, due to 39 increase in manufacturing (+ 5.1%) and extractive industry (+ 1.9%) Production and supply of electrical and thermal energy, gas, water hot and air-conditioning fell by 1.7% ", indicates a NIS publication
Industrial production – series adjusted according to the number of working days and seasonality, during the period under review – increased by 5, 7%, supported by increases in manufacturing (+ 6.9%) and mining (+ 2.1%). The production and supply of electricity, heating, gas, hot water and air conditioning decreased by 1.4%.
According to NIS, in May 2018, industrial production – gross series – increased by 9.4% compared to the previous month due to the increase in manufacturing (+ 11.9%) and mining ( + 8.3%). The production and supply of electrical and thermal energy, gas, hot water and air conditioning decreased by 5.9%
Industrial production – adjusted series according to the number of working days and the seasonality – was lower than the month (-1.8%) and the production and supply of electricity and heat, gas, hot water and air conditioning (-0.7%) . The mining and quarrying sector grew by 4.1%
Compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, industrial production – gross series – increased by 1.2%, supported by growth in the manufacturing sector (+ 2%). The extractive industry and the production and supply of electrical and thermal energy, gas, hot water and air conditioning decreased respectively by 3.5% and 2.2%.
Industrial production – series adjusted for the number of working days of seasonality – increased by 3.6% due to the rise in the manufacturing sector (+ 3.6%). The extraction, production and supply of electrical and thermal energy, gas, hot water and air conditioning were respectively 3.5% and 1.5% lower, according to the data of the INS
