About 290 people were injured after a magnitude 5.9 earthquake hit west western Iran on Sunday, according to Reuters.
The earthquake, with a magnitude of 5.9, occurred a few hours after two other earthquakes struck the province of Hormozgan in southern Iran. 287 people were injured.
Houshang Bazvand, governor of Kermanshah province, told IRNA that eight of the wounded had been hospitalized.
State media reported that the two previous earthquakes had respective magnitudes of 4.7 and 5.7 and were damaging several buildings.
Iran has faced more devastating earthquakes in recent years. Last November, a magnitude 7.3 earthquake struck Kermanshah province in the west, killing at least 620 people and injuring a few thousand people.
