Prime Minister Viorica Dăncilă heads the Romanian delegation to participate in the 7th edition of the Summit of Heads of Government of the member states of the FPRD. China – Central and Eastern Europe (also known as 16 + 1), held in Sofia, Bulgaria.

According to a government press release, the main objective of the Summit is to promote open and pragmatic cooperation among participating States in several areas of common interest, including energy, trade , infrastructure, agriculture, the environment and interpersonal contacts, to support their development processes. The status of ongoing projects will be evaluated and new 16 + 1 collaborative initiatives will be launched.

The main moment of the Summit is the plenary session of dialogue at the level of the heads of government of the participating countries. On the sidelines of the event will be held the China-Central and Eastern Europe Business Forum, the heads of government participating in the Summit to take part in the opening ceremony of the Forum.

The meeting will also be an opportunity to hold bilateral meetings with heads of delegations attending the Summit. Romanian Prime Minister will meet Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, as well as several counterparts from the countries of Central and Eastern Europe

China – Cooperation Central and Eastern Europe "16 + 1" was launched in 2011 on the sidelines of the visit of the People's Republic of China Wen Jiabao to Hungary. On this occasion, a first meeting took place in this format, with the participation of the ministers of the economy and development of the partner countries.

The participating European countries are: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary. They have observer status in Austria, Belorussia, Switzerland, Greece, the European Union's External Action Service and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Each year, a 16 + 1 summit is held at the prime ministerial level
