Sailors Andriy Drach, Serhiy Tsybizov and Volodymyr Lesovoi, were on board one of the three Ukrainian ships. They were filmed separately, each in a different place.
"We knowingly ignored the demands of the radio (Russian coastguards)." On board we had infantry and ammunition, and I am aware that these actions were provocative, "said Captain Lesovoi.
Their statements in the video contradict the information provided by the Kiev authorities. They say their ships tried to enter the Kerch Strait, deliberately ignoring the Russians' instructions.
The military command of Ukraine later stated that the seafarers had made these statements as a result of pressure or torture.
