The earthquake that devastated Mexico on September 19 led to the discovery of the remains of a temple dedicated to the god Tlaloc, god of rain to the Aztecs, in the pyramid of Teopanzolco, according to the AFP

Morelos, Cuernavaca.

The earthquake caused considerable changes in the pyramid, especially in the upper part, and archaeologists were able to discover the temple in the interior.

Archaeologists estimated that the pyramid – measuring 16 meters – dates from 1150.

Experts say the temple is about six meters long and has a width of four, with access steps located in the west.

The earthquake of September 19, which had a magnitude of 7, 1, made 369 dead.
