Thousands of Romanians forced to change their papers

All Romanians whose name contains the letter "î" or from localities whose name contains this letter inside will have to change their passport, passport or driving license. A bill voted Thursday in the Senate stipulates that all localities will use the letter "â" in their place instead of "î", according to the rules of the Academy, and all the pieces of identity will have to be changed to this regard. The measure was proposed provided that after 1989 the letter "i" in the words was replaced by the letter "a".
