In a speech to a crowd of Labor Party supporters gathered in front of Sao Paulo union building, Lula insisted on his innocence and said he would come back.
"I'm not above the law, if I did not believe the law , I would not have created a political party, I would have started a revolution, "he said.
He would have used his influence to favor the construction giant Odebrecht by obtaining contracts in Angola in exchange for a little money.
