Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced this week that he is running for re-election and is currently not considering “anything beyond” the post of governor.
DeSantis made the remarks in an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity, who bought the 2024 presidential election.
“I don’t envision anything other than doing my job,” DeSantis said on “Hannity” Thursday night. “We have a lot going on in Florida. I will be running for re-election next year and we are also working on a lot of things in the state beyond just running for governor.”
DeSantis left open the possibility of a race in 2024, saying it was “at an advanced stage. This is not something I plan.”
The governor said he is currently focused on Florida and has an eye on other elections in the Sunshine State in addition to the governorship.

“We have races in school boards and I want to make sure people don’t support critical race theory,” he told Hannity, “making sure parents have the opportunity to ‘send their children to school as they wish. There is a lot to do. Huge problems. ”
DeSantis, a outspoken ally of former President Trump, has raised national notoriety in recent years and is believed to be one of the top contenders for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.
Recent polls have shown him on par with Trump, who has said he is likely to run.
Trump has been teasing a possible run for some time, telling Fox News Digital last month that he “was getting to a point where we really had no choice” but to run for president again.
