Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman has admitted to being impressed with Oscar Mingueza after the youngster made his debut in the 4-0 win over Dynamo Kiev in the Champions League.
Mingueza had his first start for the clash with Barca running out of defensive options after Gerard Pique joined Ronald Araujo and Samuel Umtiti on the sidelines.
The 21-year-old also did a good job and received a lot of praise from his manager after the comfortable victory in Ukraine.
“I think Mingueza has shown that we can count on him. He has to work hard to get the minutes but he’s been training with us for five or six weeks now and he’s given us a good impression. It was certainly an encouraging performance from the youngster who could now enter the contention to play against Osasuna on Sunday in La Liga at Camp Nou. Araujo could be in good shape by then and Frenkie de Jong could also be an option, but Koeman could choose to stick with Mingueza after a strong start.
