Matthew Boyd continues throwing, Ronny Rodriguez continues to hit, and the Detroit The Tigers equalized their series against Los Angeles Angels Wednesday night.
Boyd recorded his seventh consecutive quality start, scoring one point in six runs, and Rodriguez continued his torrid pace, scoring 3 for 4 with four RBIs.
The Tigers won convincingly at Comerica Park, 10-3. They are 16-17 years old.
Boyd's night began worryingly, with a solo house led by Angels second baseman David Fletcher, but he only allowed two shots in total. Boyd also dropped six batters and did not work.
Thanks to Rodriguez's bat, the Tigers reacted quickly to the Fletcher score, taking the lead in his triple hat-trick at the end of the first run. Rodriguez then scored one point at home in the third inning and doubled another in the fifth.

He was third in seventh place, which gave him a little perspective.
JaCoby Jones scored two home runs in the eighth, his second of the season.

The recent tear of Rodriguez
Rodriguez has served as an individual demolition team since joining the Tigers late last month. In 14 games, he hits .340, with 12 of his 18 moves for extra bases. But it's not that success is when he hits them. Of those 18 hits, seven tied the match or gave the Tigers advance. Rodriguez has been recalled from Triple A Toledo to replace second baseman Josh Harrison, who has been on the injured list for 10 days and is suffering from a bruise on his left shoulder. But if it continues in this direction, Gardenhire will have no choice but to keep it in the starting formation.
Boyd's night
It was another strong and discreet performance by Boyd, who won his second consecutive start. Boyd's only real fault was Fletcher's home run, although a strong wind blowing from the left field prevented Albert Pujols' ball from coming out of the stands. In the win, Boyd brought his season back to 2.86, tied for 10th in the AHL. His six strikeouts earned him a tie in fourth place in the major category with 63 points.

Here and there
The big bats of the Tigers arrive. Nicholas Castellanos extended his strike series to 11 games with a single in the first inning, and Miguel Cabrera scored one in four goals. Cabrera hits .302 this season. Joe Jimenez obviously has more and more extension to throw his fastball, which is evident in his withdrawal from Mike Trout at the seventh goal.
