As for this new model, the wireless charging feature will likely be standard, which means Apple won’t sell a version that will charge only through Lightning.
On the sound quality, PineLeaks says the overall sound should be the same as on the second gen, but with significantly better bass and bass, possibly due to the new design.
Launch date and price
The AirPods 3 were due to be unveiled in the spring of 2021, which did not happen. Apple’s reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said the launch will take place in the third quarter.
In his Light up newsletter, Gurman does not give a specific month, only that it will be launched “in the fall”. Previously, DigiTimes said the AirPods 3 could launch at Apple’s event in September, which did not happen. Now, a new report suggests these headphones have hit production and will be launching this month.
As for the price of AirPods 3, Apple should set them between 150 and 200 dollars. It’s still unclear whether Apple will sell two different versions, one with a wireless charging case and the other with a regular case, or only one with a wireless charging case.
