This is not the first time that allegations have surfaced about William intimidating Harry and Meghan. In January 2020, shortly after Harry and Meghan announced their decision to step down from royal duties, the Sunday opening hours reported that the Sussexes had been “taken away from the royal family by the ‘intimidating’ attitude of his brother the Duke of Cambridge” and quoted a source who said the couple had decided on their royal exit after two years of “constantly said their place.”
The royal family immediately put an end to the rumors, with Harry and William even going so far as to issue a rare joint statement denouncing them.
“Despite clear denials, a false story was published today in a UK newspaper speculating on the relationship between the Duke of Sussex and the Duke of Cambridge,” they said in the joint statement. “For brothers who care so deeply about mental health issues, the use of inflammatory language in this manner is offensive and potentially harmful.”
