Next Xbox and PC Exclusive to Bloober Team the Way is slated for release later this month, and the developer has released a brand new trailer to showcase gaming’s use of NVIDIA RTX technology. At launch, the game will use technology on PC and Microsoft DirectX Raytracing on console. While the majority of Xbox Series X games | S are also coming out on Xbox One, The way will only be available on Microsoft’s two next-generation systems. The new trailer for the game certainly gives viewers a sense of why this is the case, with some amazing use of ray tracing. Fans of the survival horror genre will definitely want to keep an eye out for this game when it releases!
The new trailer can be found embedded below.
The reflections seen in the trailer above really show what the game will bring to the table! From the way the light bounces off the walls and floors to the reflections off the display cases and picture frames, there is an incredible sense of ambiance throughout the short trailer. While the technological leap from the previous console generation to the next generation is not as big as the previous generation changes, raytracing is expected to make a big difference in how developers can bring a world to life in their games.
Of course, survival horror games have always excelled at creating tension through the use of atmosphere. Previous Bloober Team games have done this with less impressive visuals, so it’ll be interesting to see what kind of a difference more powerful hardware makes. Obviously, the developer is looking for ways to really use next-gen technology.
For those unfamiliar with Bloober Team, the developer has worked on games such as Layers of fear, Observer, and Blair witch. The Poland-based studio clearly has a knack for making terrifying games, and The way looks like it won’t be an exception. It remains to be seen whether or not the game will be able to offer an experience that lives up to the studio’s heritage!
The way expected to release exclusively on Xbox Series X | S and PC on January 28. You can check out all of our previous covers of the game here.
