Former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani was forced to “silence” one of his own witnesses during a hearing into alleged irregularities in the 2020 presidential election on Wednesday. A current video has already been viewed over 7 million times.
The witnesses presented their testimony to the Michigan House Oversight Committee. Former Vice President Joe Biden won the state, and President Donald Trump’s campaign has sought to challenge the results.
A witness, Melissa Carone, was a contract IT worker who was responsible for repairing faulty vote-counting machines at the TCF Center in Michigan. She clashed with Republican State Representative Steve Johnson.
Carone claimed that the voting machines would jam and that the electoral agents were running the votes through the machines “thousands of times”.
“Count the votes, the ballots nine or 10 times,” she said.
Representative Johnson told Carone she would have to testify under oath, but maintained that she had signed an affidavit.
This affidavit was submitted by Trump’s legal team as part of a Michigan lawsuit seeking to prevent the certification of the Wayne County election. The judge in that case had qualified Carone’s assertions as “simply not credible”.
Carone defended the affidavit and its claims before the oversight committee.
“I’m a mother, I have two kids, I have two degrees. I don’t know any woman in the world who would write an affidavit under oath just to write it down. You can go to jail for that,” Carone said.
At one point Carone was speaking over Johnson and Giuliani leaned over her and seemed to tell her to “shut up”. She went on to say that polling officers were taken to what she called a “Chicago warehouse” where she witnessed fraud.
“I know for a fact that there was illegal activity there,” she said, saying there were “photos” of boxes as they were being transported out of the warehouse.
According to Fox News, Republican state representative Matt Hall asked him why more people wouldn’t come forward with allegations like his. Carone told her she had been harassed and received death threats, adding: “Democrats will try to ruin your life.”
Previously, an unidentified witness argued for an electoral map because, she said, “A lot of people think all Indians are alike, I think all Chinese are alike, so how would you say that? “
“If a child shows up, you can be anyone and you can vote. And if someone with my name, you can’t even say my name, anyone can vote on my behalf. ID should be the basic requirement, ”she said.
His comments elicited some laughter from attendees. There was no evidence of widespread voter fraud in the 2020 election.
