He has just won his Oscar for Bohemian Rhapsody, Rami Malek is in final negotiations to play the bad guy in front Daniel Craig as scriptwriter-director Cary Joji FukunagaS Bond 25Well-placed sources tell Collider.

Variety previously reported that Malek was being watched for the concert, but said his filming schedule for the last season of Mr. Robot in conflict with the Bond 25 shoot, and that it's never been officially offered the role by Eon. However, sources told Collider that Malek's team at the WME had successfully negotiated his filming program for both productions. There is no agreement yet, but we expect it to be so – the parties just wanted to see if Malek would win the Oscar, this is which, of course, would increase its rating.

There are not really any details about the characters, although the villain would have been a blind man. Moroccan actor Said Taghmaoui (Wonder Woman) has already stated that he was being studied to play the role Bond 25 naughty when Danny Boyle directed the movie. Malek is of Egyptian descent, so I guess the scenario calls a villain from North Africa.

Léa Seydoux confirms his return as psychologist Madeleine Swann, while Spectrum cast Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw and Ralph Fiennes are also intended to resume their roles. Scott Z. Burns was recently hired to rewrite Fukunaga's screenplay, and Collider sources echoed reports from the UK that the filmmaker would have taken a look at his compatriot Oscar Lupita Nyong'o for a key role, although it is unclear if the actress has any interest in joining the link franchise. Eon Barbara Brocoli and Michael G. Wilson occur Bond 25, which should be Craig's last in 007.

It should be noted that Mr. Robot is produced by Universal Cable Productions, and Universal Pictures manages international distribution on Bond 25, which will be released on April 8, 2020 via MGM and Annapurna's new joint venture, United Artists Releasing. Our esteemed editor, Steve 'Frosty' Weintraub, confirmed that production was pushed from March to April. We are not saying that this change was meant to accommodate Malek, but I think it certainly helped the situation. Since Mr. Robot is supposed to turn up in July, it is possible that the scenes of Malek in Bond 25 will be shot back, as filming is expected to last several months, and tent mast productions are rarely filmed in a linear fashion.

In addition to his impressive turn Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody, Malek recently played in front Charlie Hunnam in an underrated remake of Butterfly. You can hear it as the voice of Chee-Chee in Universal Robert Downey Jr. movie Dr. Dolittle's trip. Malek is represented by WME and Brillstein Entertainment Partners, and representatives of the actor have not responded to several requests for comments in the last 48 hours.

MGM declined to comment.
