But all the new games are years away
In a claim that builds on comments from Bloober Team that they are working on a new horror game with a “very famous game publisher,” Video Games Chronicle updated their story by claiming that the Japanese publisher Konami plans to outsource its Metal Gear Solid and Castlevania franchises for other developers. All new entries in both series are years away for now, but company bosses would be more open to letting outside teams work on IPs following the poor performance of Metal Gear Survive and Contra: Rogue Corps.
VGC says this change of heart is what allowed the Silent Hill franchise to be developed by a “top Japanese developer”. The site doesn’t outright refute speculation about Bloober Team also working on a new entry in the survival horror series, instead suggesting that two titles could be in production. One of them is due to be revealed this summer.
How do you react to this? Which developers do you think would be suitable for the Metal Gear Solid and Castlevania franchises? Share your opinion in the comments below.
