Pokemon fans are skeptical after a rumor has emerged suggesting that a Pokemon Master Collection for the Nintendo Switch will be released in 2021.
Earlier in November, a listing appeared on UK retailer Game suggesting that a collection of Pokemon securities called the Pokémon Masters Collection was real and was set to release for the Nintendo Switch in 2021 – adding to a number of other rumors about Pokemon Games. However, the collection list has also been proven to be wrong.
According to the list itself, the Pokemon the games included in the collection are Pokemon Red, Pokémon Gold, and Pokemon Ruby. As some internet users have pointed out, the games included are very specific. For example, the decision to include Pokemon Ruby and not Sapphire, or maybe even the third improved version, emerald, is odd. If anything, including a Pokemon A game that combines two games into one, or just the two versions on their own would make more sense.
Another piece of evidence that might suggest the collection is bogus is Joe Merrick, webmaster of Pokemon news and information site Serebii.net. According to Merrick, he checked Google’s cache for evidence related to the Pokémon Masters Collectionof the page and couldn’t find anything of value. Additionally, Merrick said the collection rumor had started after a Twitter account said that “people hosting Mario All Stars would be cranky with Pokemon.” However, it was later confirmed that the Pokemon Sword and Shield The DLC Retail Pack was under discussion.
