Another day another round of Deshaun Watson business rumors.
Those come from ESPN, which ranked 17 potential deals for the disgruntled Houston Texans quarterback.
No.7 on the list are the New York Jets:
The jets send: Second and 23rd overall pick in 2021, first round pick in 2022
Texans send: Sixth round pick in 2022, QB Deshaun Watson
In terms of a capital project, this is the easiest deal to make. Texans could draft any unnamed quarterback Trevor Lawrence with the No. 2 pick. Caserio would likely hold the Jets first-round pick in 2022 as opposed to Seattle’s pick, but if they can get a deal done with Watson, I don’t think Jets general manager Joe Douglas , will let this hang. . The sixth round is a small offering for the Jets who make this sacrifice.
Both teams would be willing to make this deal work. Does Watson, however? … Watson would have liked the Texans to interview Robert Saleh, but the star quarterback hasn’t seen Saleh in a long time. More importantly, the Jets have been one of football’s most dysfunctional franchises for the past decade. Is Watson really confident enough in Saleh to come to New York for a Jets team in a seemingly endless rebuild?

The Giants look set at quarterback with Daniel Jones. But ESPN can never say never, ranking the Giants No.12 on its roster:
The giants send: 11th overall pick in 2021, first round pick in 2022, first round pick in 2023, QB Daniel Jones
Texans send: Fourth round pick in 2023, QB Deshaun Watson
Jones showed virtually no growth in his second season as his numbers stagnated or declined across the board. He missed more than two games with injury and led the league in fumbles for the second consecutive season. … I’m not sure anyone is higher on Jones than the guy who would trade him, Dave Gettleman, Giants general manager. Jones is still young enough to improve, but he hasn’t been good enough for the Texans to plan their future around him, leaving the Giants at a standstill. Would they be willing to send in top three players and Jones to strike a deal?
As for the top of the list, ESPN believes the Miami Dolphins could close the best deal for Watson:
1. Miami Dolphins
2. Carolina Panthers
3. San Francisco 49ers
4. Denver Broncos
5. New England Patriots
6. Washington football team
Watson, 25, wants to leave Houston after not being involved in the hiring process for chief executive Nick Caserio.
Watson has led the NFL with 4,823 passing yards this season, an incredible feat considering that a year ago, the Texans traded wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins to the Arizona Cardinals.
