RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars ends season six with historic victory

WARNING: Spoilers ahead for RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 6 finale.

Kylie Sonique Love did RuPaul’s Drag Race the story. During the fair-published All Star Drag Race final, Love became the first openly transgender woman to win the crown on an American basis season of RuPaul Drag Race. Angela Anang became the first transgender queen to win the crown in any season of the franchise when she won Drag race Thailand in 2019.

Lawe first participated in Drag Race in season 2, and was the fourth Queen sent home after a lip-sync battle with Morgan McMichaels on Stacey Q’s “Two of Hearts”. During the All stars season 6 final, Ra’Jah O’Hara, Ginger Minj, Kylie Sonique Love and Eureka O’Hara faced off for the title. The four queens were challenged to write a verse from “This Is Our Country” by Tanya Tucker, followed by a performance of the song. In the queens Last blow to lip-sync for their life, RuPaul selected Lady Gaga’s “Stupid Love” for their final lip-sync battle.

“Live your life in your truth, and love always wins”, Love said during the final. “It means everything to me. I found myself across the trail. Drag has been my life, it has been my saving grace, it has given me a place to express myself. And winning this title is just reassuring that I have followed the right path.

Previous winners of All stars understand: Chad Michaels, Alaska, Trixie Mattel, Monet X Change, Trinity The Tuck, and Shea Coulee. Love will join them in the Hall of Fame, while earning the title of “Most Improved”, as she is the All stars winner who did the worst in her home season.

The final of RuPaul All Stars Drag Race 6 arrived on Paramount + this morning at 3 a.m.ET / 12 p.m. PT.
