Russian Sputnik Vaccine Just As Good As Western Vaccines, Study Says

Russia has entered the global vaccine race. The country’s two-dose Sputnik V vaccine has been shown to be 91.6% effective against symptomatic COVID-19 and fully effective against severe cases, according to a new peer-reviewed study released on Tuesday. There had been a lot of skepticism around the Russian firing, which was approved by Russian authorities in August, due to its incredibly rapid development and the lack of reliable published test data. But the results, which result from a large-scale clinical trial published in the British medical journal the Lancet, will help dispel this doubt. The rate of effectiveness is similar to that of western vaccines developed by Moderna and Pfizer / BioNTech. Sputnik V has already been offered to more than two million people around the world, including Argentina, Serbia and Algeria. It does not require special freezing refrigeration.
