Ryan Sutter, the husband of the first “Bachelorette” Trista Sutter, spoke on Tuesday about his mysterious illness, telling fans it was difficult to get out of bed on certain days.

Detailing his ordeal in three separate Instagram posts, Ryan, 46, noted that in February, he “began to experience occasional flu-like symptoms” after completing his training with Denver Fire.

“I have been tested for COVID several times but never tested positive. I finished the academy and believed / hoped that I would start to recover and feel better. It’s been five months now and at least I’m not feeling so well, ”explained Ryan.

Although Ryan continued to work his typical fire schedule, he faced “a battery of symptoms”, including fatigue – which the father of two described as “at times almost crippling” – as well as “pain. deep muscle and body, fevers, night sweats, itching all over the body without a rash, headache, swelling of the neck and throat, congestion, dizziness, nausea, and just general all around not feeling well .

“Most of the time I feel about 70%. One day I feel a little better and one day I can barely get out of bed, ”he continued. “I don’t think I have anything contagious because no one else in my family has been sick and no one I have worked with or associated with has been sick.

Ryan – who has been married to Trista, 48, since 2003 – added that he had had several blood tests and a CT scan. He also has a ‘high ANA title [antinuclear antibody] and low WBC [white blood cell] but nothing else has proven anything conclusive.

Ryan also noted how he hoped his story resonated with others struggling in a similar situation.

“Take Aways – I look like I’m sick for some reason. I don’t seem to be alone in this experience. The number of people who share a story similar to mine is incredible. The struggle to find answers in the medical world and the support of the insurance industry is frustrating and insufficient, ”Ryan also said.

“In seeking answers to my personal situation, I hope I can help all those who are suffering in the same way that I am now deeply sympathetic,” he continued.

Ryan said he felt “well prepared to face [his] current health situation ”after having spent“ the greater part [his] tough life [his] personal boundaries. “

“I have a strong support group and the best wife in the world. Do not worry about me. I’ll be fine. If you have to worry, worry about each other. Help each other. Be there for each other, ”he wrote.

Ryan also thanked fans for the “surge of support” he has received since, calling it both “humiliating and therapeutic.”

“I couldn’t be more grateful,” he added.

Ryan first met Trista in the 2003 season premiere of “The Bachelorette”. They are parents to daughter Blakesley, 11, and son Maxwell, 13.
