“Thanks to everyone who listened to ‘Skin’, especially those who opened their minds to what I was trying to convey through the lyrics,” she said in an Instagram caption. “I wasn’t disturbed by a few lines in a (beautiful) song and wrote a diss track about it.”
“I was at a turning point in my life for countless reasons,” she continued. “So I was inspired to do what I usually do to cope, to write something that I wish I could have told myself in the past.”
