An 8-year-old girl was found safe Sunday after being seized on a street in Fort Worth, Texas, police said.
Salem Sabatka was walking with her mother when she was taken away and put in a vehicle. Her mother pursued her but could not stop the kidnapping.
Part of the incident was captured on the camera of a neighbor, who ran into the street after hearing the cries of the mother.
The police quickly started looking for the girl and sent alerts with photos and details of the car.
About eight hours later, police arrested Michael Webb, 51, for aggravated kidnapping.
Police found Webb and the girl in a hotel after local church members in search of the car spotted her in Forest Hill, Texas.
"I have two boys and I would have wanted as many looks on my boys as possible," said Jeff King, a local pastor who looked for the car after seeing the police alerts, then informed the investigators of his fate. "I feel that God has allowed me to be a tool."
Sabatka was taken to the hospital for examination by doctors.
"Those of you who have a camera doorbell, keep them on the road," said Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price at a news conference. "They have been of great help in dealing with this problem."
