Jets quarterback Sam Darnold will miss several games in mono, said coach Adam Gase Thursday. Trevor Siemian will start Monday night against the Browns.
This means that Darnold will also miss the Patriots' third week game, at a minimum. The Jets have a break in Week 4 before visiting the Eagles during Week 5. The Jets' early schedule is brutal. After the Browns game, they have four straight games against the Patriots, Eagles, Cowboys and Patriots.
Darnold scored 28-41 for 175 yards and a touchdown in a week-1 loss to the Bills.
