Samantha Cerio has seen enough.
The video showing the end of Auburn's gymnast's career was rejected in the eyes by social media.
"Those of you who signal me and tag me in the video of my injury, I ask you to kindly stop," Cerio tweeted Wednesday, according to several reports.
"Going into pain and seeing my knees bent abnormally in real life was pretty horrible, but continue to see it from videos / images because some people feel entitled to republish it, that's not acceptable. "
Cerio, who will participate in the program "Today" Monday, has since taken his account in private. The 22-year-old became national news this weekend when the video of her dislocation of two kneecaps at a regional NCAA tournament became viral.
"My pain is not your entertainment," she tweeted.
The injury occurred as Cerio attempted a double-upset with a blind landing in Friday's event. She landed awkwardly and painfully. Her teammates, using Cerio's injury as motivation, would qualify for the NCAA finals.
"It was pretty hard to watch," said coach Jeff Graba at the New Orleans Times-Picayune. "She is a troop. The last thing she said was, "Go help the girls." The girls gathered around her. They are doing it for her right now. "
Cario soon announced that she was retiring from the sport.
"I could not be more proud of the person that gymnastics has made me," she posted on Instagram. "It taught me hard work, humility, integrity and dedication, just to name a few. It gave me challenges and roadblocks that I never imagined that put me to the test.
