“We are committed to innovating new mobile experiences that unfold seamlessly and continuously to make the lives of our consumers easier and better. We’ve made the bold decision to extend the S Pen experience to the Galaxy S21 Ultra, and plan to expand the S Pen experience to other categories of devices in the future. “
It remains to be seen what “additional device categories” means. Samsung’s head of smartphones, TM Roh, has previously confirmed that the company will bring some of the Note’s “best-loved features” to other Galaxy devices. Numerous reports released last year indicate that the Galaxy Fold will be supported by S Pen in the future, it’s just that non-Note devices won’t offer the same kind of seamless stylus integration. While these rumors were that future Fold devices would support the stylus, they wouldn’t ship with one. It doesn’t seem that far away, seeing as the S21 Ultra won’t ship with an S Pen either, and you’ll either have to use an older one or purchase the thicker standalone model.
