The Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 +, and Galaxy S21 Ultra will be unveiled in early January, and the phones are expected to go on sale later this month. The first renderings of upcoming smartphones have already been leaked along with their battery capacities. Now, new information regarding the Galaxy S21 Ultra’s camera has surfaced.
According to @UniverseIce, the Galaxy S21 Ultra will bring a small improvement over the Galaxy S20 Ultra in terms of the main camera. The future flagship smartphone will use the ISOCELL HM3 camera sensor with a resolution of 108 MP and pixels of 0.8 μm. The new sensor would offer 12% better light sensitivity, allowing the phone to capture a little more detail. It will also help the Galaxy S21 Ultra to capture images faster in low light conditions.
More importantly, Samsung would ditch the 3D ToF sensor used in the Galaxy S20 Ultra. The company will change the 3D ToF sensor with laser autofocus on the Galaxy S21 Ultra, which will contribute to more reliable autofocus in low light conditions and closer subjects. Samsung had already made its move to switch to laser autofocus with the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.
It’s still unclear whether the Galaxy S21 Ultra will feature a quad-camera setup or a penta-camera setup. The phone is expected to have a Super AMOLED Infinity-O flat panel display with 120Hz refresh rate, QHD + and HDR10 + resolution. The Galaxy S21 Ultra could debut with an Android 11-based One UI 3.1, Exynos 2100, or Snapdragon 875 processor and a 5,000mAh battery.
