Samsung has never been very quick with major Android operating system upgrades, but the company recently opened up new avenues with its security patch releases, often beating Google itself. It’s still mid-November, but Samsung is already rolling out the December security patches of next month to some devices enrolled in the One UI 3 beta.

The new update, with firmware version G98xxXXU5ZTKA, has been spotted rolling out to Galaxy S20 + devices in the UK and Germany, and is expected to make its way to other countries participating in the beta soon. In addition to including the December security patches about two weeks ahead of schedule, the 271.61MB update also contains a number of bug fixes and minor UI changes.

Last month, Samsung started rolling out the November security patches to phones even before Halloween had passed, and this is another example of how the company has streamlined the security update process. .
