Samsung is thinking of merging the Galaxy S and Note lines

For two years now, Samsung has been using two flagship phones a year: the Galaxy S in the spring and the Galaxy Note in the fall. However, a new report says that it could soon change.

Samsung would be thinking of the future brand of its Galaxy smartphone, including possibly eliminating the distinction between Galaxy S and Note families. This change could be manifested in different ways, according to a famous leak specialist Evan Blass, including a possible "Galaxy One" instead of a Galaxy S11.

"Since the S and Note functions overlap so closely, one possibility is simply to merge them into a single handset in the first half, essentially an S-series with an S-Pen," says Blass. He adds that if the Galaxy Fold meets the expectations of Samsung, the company hopes to offer future models as its new flagship product in the second half instead of the new Galaxy Note phones.

These changes are said to be very common. It is therefore possible that Samsung makes different changes to its Galaxy S and Note phones or does not change its current strategy.

The merger of Galaxy S and Note lines could make sense for Samsung. Having a big screen has always been one of the main features of Galaxy Note phones, but as smartphone screens continue to grow, Galaxy S and Note phones are getting closer and closer in screen size. Just this year, the Galaxy S10 and S10 + were launched with 6.1-inch and 6.4-inch screens, and Samsung's Galaxy Note 10 came with a 6.3-inch screen.

Then there is the whole naming process. Now that we are in the two-digit numbers for the Galaxy S and Note names, the names of these new phones will become a bit difficult to say. Does not the name "Galaxy S14" seem a little strange to you? This realignment of the brand could give Samsung the opportunity to completely abandon its numbers or at least start over with a new device "Galaxy One".
